  Who is Allama Iqbal?

Dr. Allama Iqbal was born at sialkot on November 9, 1877. He is our national poet. He passed his M.A in
Philosophy form Govt. College, Lahore. He did his Bar-at-Law from London and PHd from Germany.
He was a great thinker and philosopher. He gave the idea of a separate homeland for the Muslims of the sub-continent.
He wrote several poems for the children. He worte poetry not only in Urdu but also in persian. He infused a new spirit of hope, self-respect and courage into the Muslims of the sub-continent through his poetry.
He awakened them from their deep sleep. At last, they succeded in getting a separate homeland for themselves. It is called "Pakistan".
It came into being on August 14, 1947.
He died on April 21, 1938 and was buried near the main gate of  Badshahi Mosque, Lahore.
